Make databases scalable
Currently databases are limited to one gear, obviously this can be a huge bottle neck in scaling your application. It would be great if databases could scale as easy as applications.

Check out the DBaaS solutions available in the OpenShift Marketplace:

- ElephantSQL (PostgreSQL): https://developers.openshift.com/en/marketplace-elephantsql.html

Although OpenShift is a PaaS, supporting DBaaS may be a better scalable approach.
Not able to scale a database will be a huge drawback for attracting data driven and data intensive application developers, customers, and users.
I sincerely think that this should be one of your top priority items for openshift.

I think that providing some kind of API for this in your service will be sufficient. With such feature people will extend existing cartridges with definitions of scalling procedures.
Any updates on this?
